Comprehensive Policies & Adolescence Obesity

Obesity is a condition that effects 42.8% of adults and about 20% of adolescences. The prevalence of Obesity is expected to increase. By 2030, the American population is expected to have a 60% obese population. Public Health efforts that are comprehensive in nature, need to be implemented. Specifically, efforts should be implemented in public schools where adolescents spend a great deal amount of time. Comprehensive policies, or policies that address the bio-psychosocial nature of obesity, have been proven to be effective.
